Cookie Policy — Yacht Hire Saint-Tropez

Last updated: October 19, 2026

This page explains which technologies yachthiresainttropez.com places on a visitor's device when browsing our catalogue of 102 yachts, sport-yachts, day-boats and catamarans, or when sending us a charter enquiry. It is written for anyone visiting the site, whether comparing a day-boat for Pampelonne or requesting a quote for a longer charter, and it applies regardless of how the enquiry is later matched — for an active day on the water, we check tender range and water-toy capacity against the chosen anchorage before anything else, and that matching happens after an enquiry reaches us, never through tracking on this page.

Storage used on this site

Cookie-notice preference (local storage)
Remembers that you closed the cookie notice. No cookie, no tracker. Stored until you clear your browser data.
Selected yacht (session storage)
Remembers which yacht you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled. Deleted when the tab is closed or the form is sent.
Visitor and session identifiers (local storage)
Two random identifiers used for first-party visit measurement, served from our own domain. Expire 30 days after your last visit; can be cleared at any time in your browser.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small file that a website asks a browser to store so that information can be read back on a later visit. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way but are managed directly by a browser, rather than exchanged automatically with every request to the server. We use these terms interchangeably below to cover any piece of information stored on your device by or for this site.

Does this site set cookies, or use third-party analytics and advertising trackers?

No. yachthiresainttropez.com does not set any cookie of its own, and it does not load any third-party analytics, advertising or social-media tracking script. There is no advertising pixel, no retargeting tag and no cross-site tracking of any kind on this site.

How do we measure visits to the site?

We count visits with a measurement script that we serve ourselves, from our own domain, without setting any cookie. It records the pages viewed, time spent on each page, the referring website, any campaign parameters present in the link you followed (such as a UTM tag or an advertising click identifier), your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. When you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so that we know which channel brought it to us — for instance, whether someone found a particular yacht through a search, a referral, or a direct link to one of the 102 vessels listed, with day rates starting at €1,700.

What is stored in your browser, and for how long?

Three entries are placed in browser storage, none of which contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail.

  • A local-storage entry remembers that you have closed the cookie notice, so it is not shown again on the same device; it stays until you clear your browser data.
  • A session-storage entry remembers which yacht you clicked on, so the enquiry form can be prefilled with that choice; it is removed automatically when the tab is closed or once the form has been sent.
  • A local-storage entry holds two random identifiers — a visitor identifier and a session identifier — used only for the visit measurement described above; it expires automatically 30 days after your last visit and can be deleted from your browser at any time.

What third-party requests happen when you visit the site?

Loading certain pages triggers a small number of requests to outside services, each of which receives the visitor's IP address as a normal part of how the web works, but none of which sets a cookie for us.

  • Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; Google receives the IP address of the browser requesting the font file.
  • The phone-number field in our enquiry forms uses the intl-tel-input library, loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which likewise receives the requesting IP address.

Standard technical server logs — IP address, time, page requested and browser type — are also kept briefly by our hosting provider for security purposes, independently of any cookie or script.

What happens when you tap a WhatsApp button?

A WhatsApp button on this site sets nothing on your device and opens nothing on its own. Tapping it records the click in our booking system — the page URL, the referring website, your browser language, and the prefilled message text — so that we can see which page the enquiry came from, and only then opens WhatsApp. From that point, the conversation takes place on WhatsApp itself, operated by Meta under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control.

How can you control this storage, and what if that changes?

Every current browser lets you view, block or delete local storage, session storage and cookies, generally from the privacy or site-settings section of the browser; clearing site data for yachthiresainttropez.com removes the entries described above. Because the site currently sets no cookie of its own and uses no tracker, there is no cookie-consent choice to make today. If we ever introduce an optional cookie — for example for a feature that is not strictly necessary to operate the site — we will update this page first and ask for your consent before it is placed. Questions about this page, or any request concerning data stored or collected through it, can be sent to [email protected]; requests are answered within one month, and we may ask for proof of identity before acting on them. This page is written with reference to Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) and the cookie guidelines of the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), the French supervisory authority, available at www.cnil.fr, to which a complaint can be addressed.
